The Center’s Work
Working with strategic configurations of non-profit, government, and for-profit partners, and utilizing a braintrust of talent in the technology and media sectors, the Center for Creative Sustainability cultivates and implements groundbreaking creative collaborations, projects, initiatives, and legislation towards creative sustainability. It’s climate sustainability project Do1Act.org is a collaboration with municipal agencies, non-profits, and media agencies (including the San Francisco Department of Parks & Recreation, the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, Recology, the Office of Senator Scott Wiener, Fern Design, and O+A Studio). Do1Act.org provides a comprehensive online information platform and catalyst (using gamification psychology) for the public to learn how changes in consumer and individual behavior are critical in addressing the climate crisis.
Beltran is also co-founding the first sustainable materials library on the West Coast, the San Francisco State University Sustainable Materials Learning Library. It provides a critical resource for creators, designers, architects, and artists to source groundbreaking, innovative sustainable materials to use in creating fully sustainable new products and architectural structures.
